Age On

FuZZ Is Listening To - Sleepyhead - Passion Pits, Another one from these guys. It's one of those songs that after many listenings.. sort of grows on you, its a goody.

Hey! Happy Birthday Me! =) January 17th, 2010, i turned 19.. the last of the teen years and the number that goes between two of the most hyped up ages of your life. 18 and 20. I gotta be honest, when i was young i always thought 18 was the year i'd go all out and do some amazing things. Never did i think that it might be when im 19. This number is the most underrated age in my head. When your 16 you have the sweet 16 and your.. legal for doing the funky shindig. Then theres 17, the supposed last year of innocence, but in actuality one of the most rebellious years of your life... because once your 18. Everything is legal. And that is why 18 is an important number, i thought i was going to apeshit crazy and do all this funky stuff. I was so looking forward to being 18, having my license, going for cruises, getting a job and making money. Thing is i never got a job or my p's, the two most IMPORTANT things in life. Stability and Mobility. I know right... But here's 19, the last year of being a teenager. A year that Past Fuzz always overlooked, and i've taken my step forward... i got my P's and i gotta say its effin awesome. Talk about iRony eh?

So I hope, i hope to take more initiative in life, make every chance an opportunity, be more curious, crawl out of the shell we call shame and walk out loud, proud, confident and tackle everything life throws at you. When you get knocked down, at least you'll remember to duck next time. It's the bad, just as much as the good, that makes us better people. Playing it safe leaves you with one conclusion, that plays over and over again... and I don't want to one day look back and have the same memory played out, in different situations...

With all that said and done, it's easier said than done. And to live up to what's written will be a challenge. But life is basically challenge after challenge, and we walk out of it better than we were before. Think about it, watching new's is challenging... but when your at work, school, uni or anywhere the next day and someone brings it up you can stand up and say "Yes.. i did see the elephant crush the prime ministers car.. and it was magnificent"

Peace Out, One Love

The Epitome of Man!

Written by Fuzz on 1/12/2010 11:51:00 PM comments (0)

FuZZ Is Listening To - Chicago - If you leave me now, Talk about taking it back. This song came out in the 70's. Back when probably all of our dads had swingin afros and fast cars. I heard this song on Shaun of the Dead and said to myself.. I GOTTA HAVE IT. Classics are what make us what we are today.. said an ancient philosopher named Phairiz Aronyis....

The other day little Timmy walked over to me and asked me, Dear Uncle Fuzz, the Awesome and Magnificent one.. What is it that makes a man, a man. And i looked dear Timmy in his beigey olive orange eyes, which reminded me of a goat eating an orange, and said.. Google it.

Sadly little Timmy is no longer with us now... yes the unthinkable happened....

It's passed 6PM and his mum wanted him home. He has a curfew.. *wipes a tear*

But his question raised an eyebrow, Rocky styles. And i did Google it, but instead of searching i told Google that im in a vegas mood and that im feeling Lucky.... It took me to youtube and onto a Liza Minelli song called "What makes a man, a man".. And nope i did not learn ANYTHING from that, Or the 2 seconds i saw of it. So im pretty sure the answer i gave to Little Timmy was wrong. So i went on to write a book. Yes the few days i had after little Timmy asked me i was able to write and complete a book....P.S. to me a book is writing a paragraph in Notepad on windows. And i found out what it means to be a super duper man. The manliest of all men even more manly than, the brutes, the arnold shwarzanegge.. i dont want to finish that, isnt it racist?, the Rambo's, the Ron burgundy's, the Hulk Hogan, the Hoff, the Bruce Willis, the Michael Keaton batman before he went gay and had nipples on his suit, the Hugh Jackman Wolverine, in other words the "Supposed" MANLIEST OF ALL MANS.

Yes i found the Epitome of Man, the way every alpha male should be. We should all, as men watch this video and learn from these maestro of Testosterone and the Guru's of Guys.
So to all the so called "Men".. I'm looking at you Brad Pitt, It's time to learn a thing or two about being a man.

Yes, the Bee Gees, Stayin Alive. Think im lying? Then you didn't click play, you tried to cheat didn't you. Play it or else i'll stick a toothpick inside this tissue box next to me, dont push me i'll do it.

Ok so you watched it? Isn't it like the greatest song to strut down the street to, also its a great song i must say, a Classic. Now if you watched the video closely. The big entrance of our Men was incredibly intense. The high, crotch hugging pants. The Jacket's over one shoulder. The t-shirts. But to top it all off, possibly the greatest signs of masculinity. The Grizzly Beards accompanied by the Long "Pantene Pro-V'd" Hair! But to even top it off even more, the cherry on the meat pie. The High Pitched Singing voices of angels. It's like a mixture of Sting and Nick Carter. These guys have made a Announcement. "We are Stayin Alive, Because we have BEARDS!" Especially the guy on the left who's just walking and not really singing. Now to continue, these guys are singing AND Strutting down an abandoned Train Station. You can't get any more cooler than that. You can't get any more Macho than that. And did i mention that he's holding a jacket over one shoulder by his FINGERS! They just proved that this is the ultimate Strut song. After the strut you see them popping out of windows of abandoned buildings. Showing their glossy white teeth, behind the fierce bushes known as facial hair. It's a statement that "Although we're rough on the outside, we're genuine and sexy on the inside". I believe it's lost in translation though, because Beards are sexy either way. The video then ends with them strutting slowly away. Because they know that they've taught us all that they need to. If they were to teach us anymore, we'd implode with over Manliness. A disease which caused the Dinosaurs to go extinct, Yes they went extinct because they were too awesome and macho to exist. Stayin Alive, which is a metaphor for the Spanish Civil War where the Men would go and fight for their families but not with weapons or fists, but show downs of manliness, they would compete in the ManLympics, a test where the man with the roughest beards won, the men with the greatest strut's overcome, the man who ate pies the fastest won, the man who could name the most beautiful women in order of hotness would win and the biggest tournament of them all.... Crying during a romantic movie, Cause everyone knows a real man cries. The ManLympics, a tradition which was continued so man could better himself. So thank you Bee Gees and i hope i can spread your message of "Stayin Alive" to the world... thank you Peepz for listening.

Peace Out, One Love

SNES - Super Nostalgic Entertainment System

FuZZ Is Listening To - Love Always Remains - MGMT, You know how you put your iTunes, or Windows Media Player, or WinAmp or whatever you use to listen to music on Shuffle mode and Every song in your computer is in the playlist. Okay maybe you dont do it, but some people may and those people understand where im coming from. But this is a song that usually plays when my music player is on shuffle and its a song that i've always overlooked and grown to really like. It's a nice flowing song and not so Electro Poppy. Good song, give it a listen.

Remember the 90's? More importantly the Early 90's. And even more specifically video games in the early 90's. And to go even MORE intricately detailed.. Sega Megadrive and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System wars of the early 90's and late 80s? The 16-Bit wars. What a great day and age of video gaming. Back when the best graphics were like this.

Boogermen, a caped hero who slings his own boogers to vanquish his foes

Wow right, The realism was uncanny. But the best part was there were only 6 buttons, games weren't confusing. The platform games ruled, the Mario and the Sonics. Just run, press a button, dodge here or there and your sweet. Ohh good old fashioned video games. Simpler, easier, and beautiful times. I'm not downplaying new age video games, i love my GTA and Assassin's Creed, but i gotta say my love for video games stemmed from playing these fun loving videogames. Remember renting video games from the video shop, unjumbling the controller wires, sitting close so no one trips over your wire while playing, blowing on the cassette a few times because thats how everyone says you make the games work, buying magazines to find cheats (yes juniors, the internet wasn't always around for cheats), and best of all spending aaaages glued to the screen to finish the game (which honestly only took about a few hours). Gee whizz i miss these games.

Anyways the reason i'm pondering over all of this is because i just found out they're remaking NBA Jam! Like OH MY GOD! This game was the bomb! The Yoda of all Basketball Games. The Black Belt of NBA games. The Mr Miyagi of Ball Bouncing video games. Heres how the first first first first FIRST ever NBA Jam i played looked.

Now Check out THESE Graphics

NBA Jam was a two on two basketball game, Probably because 5 on 5 would be too confusing to our young video gamed minds. But it was so so good, had all the best players, who are now classics, Hakeem Olajuwan,Scotty Pippen, Charles Barkley, Dennis Rodman, Reggie Miller, Shaq (Jeez he's old) and Karl Malone. Rodman had like a tonne of different hair colors. The best thing about this game was the cheats. You could give them big heads, big shoes or the ultimate Dunks. Run on the far side of the court, press a button and you'd fly ALLLLL the way to the other side and dunk it, did i also mention that there are sparkly stars on your feet when you do it. Naturally, The game's based on a novel.. the Memoirs of Fuzz. Then there's another cheat where you can practically shoot from anywhere and still get it in. Un-Stoppable i says! Or as the game says BOOM-SHAKA-LAKA!!!

The commentary in this game is Legendary. They'd yell out The Monster Jam, Boom SHAKA LAKA, WHOOP There it is, and SLAMMA JAMMA!!! Like who says that these days... Light bulb...I'M GONNA SAY THAT THESE DAYS!

So yes, im hella excited cause Nintendo Wii is gonna get a remake of these old school NBA Jam games. They already remade the classic Super Mario Bros Games and from what i saw that looks sooo so good. It's nice being reminded of our more youthful, less stressful, more innocent and very very fun days. Video Games aren't bad. =D

Peace Out, One Love!

The Start Of Something New

FuZZ Is Listening To -A Star Is Born - Jay-Z, I just love the background music in this song. It's somewhat uplifting... in a wierd rapping sort of way =\

Wow... we've slacked off on our blog entries lately.. ANYWHO

A few days late, but still... Happy New Years Peeps! =D
2010 has dawned on us as the Noughties are now but a mere memory. Now we're onto the.. Teenies? OH REMEMBER OVALTEENIES!?... they were so good. Anywhom, 10 years ago all i can say is i was about 8, just finishing year 3 of school at Gardeners Road. And now im a jolly little vegemite who'se just completed my first year at University. The past decades been great... but who cares about that, time to look forward to the next 10 years... BUT before i do i must say 2009 was a fairly swell year. It was the year where we dipped our toes in this thing called Adulthood. It's a different life, a smack in the face, a challenge, it's stressful, it's depressing, it's enjoyable, it's adventurous, its dangerous, it's great and it's new. This year i saw myself enter University, make new friends from different places, meet interesting new people, failed my driving test a number of times, changed diapers in the back of a sedan in Jakarta traffic with my expert team of brothers, saw my other brother get married, welcomed a beautiful neice into the world and cramped up in the middle of a basketball game, cause im a pro. So i farewell 2009. And Hellooooo 2010!

But anyways, HOW did we all spend our NYE? I know Zain and I were clueless up until there was 5 hours left of the night. We had Stefan come by my place and we planned from there. Cause on the biggest night of the year, possibly one of the busiest nights... we choose to wing it and see where the road takes us. Are we SMART or are we SMART! Sadly no camera was taken. By some DIVINE reason we thought we'd check out Coogee beach for the 9:30 fireworks. Divine means some of our friends are there and said come by. So after some Satay, Steak and Sausages at my joint we bizzounced on over to Coogee beach. Stefan and I said to ourselves that we would find somewhere to buy shots... of chocolate milk. Expecting the unexpected but at the same time expecting to not find parking so easily. But our expectations were not expectable because we found a parking spot almost instantly. Whilst cruising Stefan, just quietly, spotted a spot near a big black car. We walked on down towards coogee beach passing someones house that was blasting some Jay-Z, a big trampoline, we should have ditched the beach to try and break and enter into someones backyard to go on the trampoline. Buuuut we didnt. So we continued down this long long road, passing a car that entered a dead end road and tried to three point turn its way out.... We're sad sad kids who find joy in watching people try to drive. We finally got to the beach... and what do we do. We Sit Down.... You'd think we'd go find our friends, dip our feet in the sands, play with a kite, scuba dive, build a sand castle, dig to china, eat lettuce or baywatch run. But no... we sat down. Observed everyone walk on by... this continued for another 2 hours as we just sat there waiting for the fireworks to start. Thing is no one told us that waiting for fireworks is a fun ride in itself... PLEASE ZAIN TELL THEM WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU WAIT FOR FIREWORKS AT COOGEE ON NEW YEARS! CAUSE HERE'S ANOTHER INSTALLMENT OF TAG TEAM BLOGGING! Red is Fuzz, Blue is Zain

Hey there Fuzz, its great to be back and did u just ask me what happens at coogee beach when your waiting for fireworks ?! OH...u didn't ? You were actually inquiring as to a blaq tie you claim to own ? Ha Ha thats a good one buddy *slaps fuzz on the back* but yes onto the matter at hand ! We actually found this really nice chill out spot on top of this sandstone slab and thought theres only an hour till the fireworks and the weather is have bad, why don't we just CHILL ! Little did we know that chilling doesn't come without its many perilous obstacles ! The first of which were a pair of pretty cute blondes who approached us but before they could really get a word in, I, unfortunately have become too apt at dodging those salesman-like people who randomly talk to you on the sidekerb ! The dialogue speaks for itself -->

blonde 1 : hey are you guys over 18 ?
zain : no sorry im 17 (i almost said it too CONVINCINGLY, damn my magnificent acting capabilities) *the universe slaps zain*
blonde 1: omg like no way ?!
blonde 2 : huh wat happened ?
blonde 1 : he's 17 ?!
blonde 2 : ahh, that's a shame they miss out on these DISCOUNTS !

and like that, off they went into the mystical mist of new years eve. Talk about a double whammy.

Next up came fariz rony's many fans, like everyone knows fuzz has a strong fan base BUT no one couldve foreseen the TYPE of fan base he was receiving at coogee beach - the seedy randwick boys lad type. Unfortuantely Fuzz's high demand at coogee left irreparable consequences, the 3 of us were forced to shake their hands, not once, not thrice but TWICE ! God it was agony, i tried to dodge the second handshake with a salute but the poor lad could not compute and i was forced out of politeness to shake his greasy, sweaty, germ-riddled fingers. AHH !
note to self - never leave house without dettol antispetic.

About 15 minutes before the fireworks are set to kaboom a bunch of pensioners rock up and i start a friendly chat with a granny. We get along just fine because i'm awesome that way. Anywho the granny's husband was quite the character, potentially a lil tipsy but nonetheless quite a jolly chap. SO anwyays the fireworks finally begin, it was fun to watch for about the first fine minutes but the latter 10 minutes felt like it went forever and my neck STILL doesnt feel quite right. Decent show i must say, anyways, as we were leaving mr jolly grandpa grabs me by the shoulder and looks at me sternly (que the dialogue !)

grandpa: hey son are u plannin on goin out tonight
zain: umm yeah i am actually
grandpa: ok son, if ur goin out, be smart, if ur gonna be smart, be careful, if ur gonna be careful...get a pram ?
zain: ?!?!

I thought i'd rather not argue with the wisdom of an old man but we still O THIS DAY have not been able to understand the implicit meaning of this pram gesture. So yeah if any of our fans have robert langdon's number feel free to pass it over, the fate of the world may rest on it so fulfill your moral duties fans and get me that number ! over and out.

*is in the process of buying a pram* Old drunk NYE man looked very wise and smart in his t shirt and shorts, so i believe his words are true. I know that a day will come when i need a pram to be careful and safe when a person mugs me. SO we instantly left coogee after the fireworks, rubbing our necks from the excruciating joy from the fireworks. So we got to the car and then and decided we'd be heading to Bondi. Why? Who knows, it just sounded like the place to be. Because Bondi translates in ancient Antarctican to "Place'th to Be'th". Our cruise down to Bondi was surprisingly... quiet. You'd think on new years it'd be jam packed with bumper to bumper cars. But no. It wasnt. End of story.

Anywho... the thing about bondi is.. It's bigger than you think. And when your a middle class, east side, non waverly kind of person, you'd get lost in the maze of two story houses, garages, flash cars, quiet and clean streets. So we got to a red light and were sort of lost so i says i says Go straight! Impulse made me say it, whilst Stefan and Zain stayed quiet. Minutes later our Silent Gps Aka Stefan said you should have turned right. I see we gave him the right name. So we're lost. Driving through the deep dark dangerous streets of Bondi. When out of nowhere a small ray of hope shun bright in the sky... literally. We saw a spotlight and DROVE TOWARDS IT!! Also helps that Stefan said Bondi is that way. Silent GPS prevails yet again. So we see that "Shore Thing" is BUMPIN! Down at Bondi. So we say "Next year, we're going" Bucket list Aka Gee Up list.. Myess, Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman movie? what!? that's fake. So we find parking almost instantly and then go down to the beach. "Ice Cream anyone?" Cause thats what you do, you go bondi to buy some Ice Cream. We walked past abunch of drunk people, security guards, A big slide at Shore Thing, flashing lights and hungry jacks. No Ice cream to be found. Conspiracy i tells ya. So we hit up a convenience store to buy some refreshments. Inside we found police, drunk people, south american counter clerks all conversing. I hear this:

Police Lady - So what are you getting up to tonight?
Drunk guy - I'm getting pissed!
Police Lady - Well you have fun with that, but drink responsibly
Drunk guys friend - Yeeeeahhhhhh

Just another conversation between cops and drunks. So we got our drinks and went to pay, They had all these cool drinks like Red Mountain Dew, Dr Pepper, Something called go yo. Police still behind me so... i pulled out my wallet veeeeeerryy slooooowly. I dont know why but i feel all intense when the cops are nearby, as if something i do is going to be illegal. Paranoid much? So i did what every normal person does, to avoid suspicion... I ran out yelling I DIDNT DO IT! No.. not really. But while paying for my can of Pineapple Fanta the clerks were flirting with these fine ladies who just wanted to use the ATM. Godamnit MAN CANT PEOPLE USE THE ATM THESE DAYS!? Zain and Stefan bought Dare Iced Mocha. My wish for Chocolate Milk shots were stolen! And the Pineapple Fanta wasn't even that good.... Im suddenly craving a Dare
Iced Mocha.

Anywhom, Bondi was boring so we left and said.. TO RUSH CUTTERS BAY... Little did we know that.. no we werent going to end up at Rushcutters Bay.

No no.. We thought we'd take the adventurous way because well... theres two hours left til the new year why not take a risk for once. No crossing the road when the light is flashing red is not a risk, but taking a left turn for no reason IS. So we're heading towards the coast, hopefully find a road that would take us to Rushcutters bay. Then we see it. By holy moly jeebus on a 2 legged stool.. we saw it. An upwardly Slanted and ever so steep hill.. and we wonder what is on the other side of this hill. Could it possible be the Candy Mountain, full of butter cups and jelly baby gum trees? Only one way to find out, says Zain who takes a sharp turn and then makes his way up this hill. We struggle a little bit, the car's weight wasn't on our side and a little thing called gravity was also being a bitch. But we made it and on the other side we see.... houses. But we continue our adventure through this rich suburb because we are losers and have nothing to do in the final hours of 2009. We follow the small roads, swerving in and out of the intense traffic of a quiet suburb. Then we look to our left and see lights in the distance. A space ship maybe? No, it's the city. We are at Dover Heights and we see the most magnificent view of the harbour, the city and the tower. And we say... "This Is It". Please i did not mean to copyright a certain Pop King's movie name, it's just coincidental and Zain's fault. We find ourselves a nice parking spot and look for a good spot to chill with a view. Zain charges ahead while me and Stefan and i admire an Itallian villa looking house which has an eagle statue on top. Really nice looking. Stefan and i thought, these are all rich people up here.. we won't we can't we shouldn't fit in. We earn Less than 100 a year, BEFORE TAX! So we hang back in the shadows away from all the commotion of Military Park. Then Zain comes back from wherever he disappeared off to and we asked him isnt he paranoid that we dont belong here either. To which he replied "Which is why i went down there, i saw My People" (My People = Large facial features) We found our spots but had an hour left to go til the new year dawns on us. Plus Zain and I needed to chuck a whizz. So we did the usual bad boy thing, cause we're bad boys. We committed a crime. Women stay back, theres not enough of this bad boy to go around. And yes... i once killed a man, just to watch him die..... in GTA. I wont say what crime we did but it involves a tree and us needing to go toilet. Stefan was our lookout. We succeeded.. cause we've done this before. Once again ladies, one at a time, i know im bad and its sexy.

Wow this is an esssay of an entry.

So we go back to Zain's car to listen to some tunes until its time to watch the works. We heard some love song dedications, ABBA, Noughties music, some house, and someone yelling "If your single pat yourself on the head for a midnight pash"... to which Stefan, Zain and I patted our heads. Then gave each other awkward looks... not that it was awkward... pfft we're just three guys... out on the town, chasing ladies and boobies and sex and stuff...

It was then time to leave the car so we sat under a tree on a hill somewhere. At the bottom of this small hill were a bunch of foreigners and to our left a guy making himself puke. It was really pleasant. One of the foreigners was speaking on his phone and it was annoying Zain. Zain is easily annoyed, a Chicken Burger without 29 Sesame Seeds annoys him. So he threatened to roll his basketball onto this foreign mans head. Why!? Because the man had been on the phone for over 20 minutes and thats bad. Anywho the time finally came to watch the fireworks! Which were honestly... Mediocre. Either cause it was too far, or cause the Coogee Fireworks made them boring or because we were next to a bunch of drunk ladies who had just finished puking.. i dont know but the fireworks didnt have that OOMPH factor. Plus there was no countdown.. DAMNIT WE WANT A COUNTDOWN. This year's fireworks were accompanied by a Kung Fu or Karate Logo that Yin and Yang one. Coincidentally Zain's going to start Karate lessons soon. Starting 2010 with a bang i see. Anywhom, we left the works as soon as they were done and drove around the area. Which was gridlocked, seems our secret spot wasnt so secret. It was packed so we stayed around the area, hoping to miss the traffic. We then found some footy field which looked scary from the parking spot. It was dark and we couldnt see the horizon. But as we got out of the car all fear disappeared, this once creepy isolated area seemed cosy and warm. Wierd how that is eh.... and it was kind of boring. Stupid footy field overlooking the sea, why cant you be fun and have a juggling kangaroo or a breakdancing Emu or something! So we got into the car and back onto the traffic. On the way passed some Singing spanish drunk teen girls, some more cars and a truck and bus trying to get passed each other on a single lane road. Blessing in disguise since We were hoping the singing spanish drunk teen girls would walk on by. They didnt. So from there we got kinda hungry and went to my pad to eat. I walked into my house to seee my mom and the "Aunties" conversing and laughing and having fun. It's quiet embarassing to walk into a room full of mommas friends, they look at you like a toddler who just had some sort of a growth spurt. "YAAAYYY HELLOOOO HOW ARE YOUUU LOOK AT YOUUU AWWWW HIIII"..Damnit women im 18, almost 19. I invited Stefan and Zain inside to cook some food and eat. Afterwards we called it a night. Thats how three guys spend new years, unplanned. It's what we do, we tried to make the best of it and we did with the spectacular view.

So Happy Belated New Years Peeps, Hope 2010 brings you all new experiences, fulfilment, fun, wisdom and most of all happiness.

Peace Out, One Love
